On Monday, President Droupadi Murmu took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. She was dressed in a white saree and offered prayers at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers.

The Maha Kumbh Mela, which started on January 13, is the world’s largest spiritual gathering. It attracts millions of people from all over the world. The event will end on February 26 with Mahashivratri celebrations.

President Murmu’s Visit

Along with Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, President Murmu visited the Triveni Sangam. After taking the dip, she visited the Akshayavat and Hanuman Mandir, and also explored the Digital Kumbh Anubhav Centre.

This visit is similar to that of India's first President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, who also took a holy dip at the Kumbh Mela. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also visited the event last week.

Huge Crowd at Maha Kumbh Mela

The Maha Kumbh Mela has seen over 40 crore devotees participating so far. The highest number of people attended on January 29 during Mauni Amavasya, with 8 crore people taking the holy dip.

Other famous leaders and celebrities, such as Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, and actors like Hema Malini and Anupam Kher, also visited the Mela.

The Maha Kumbh Mela happens every 12 years and is a time for spiritual cleansing and reflection for many people.
