Fares of Vande Bharat trains and the ones with Anubhuti and Vistadome Coaches, are to be reduced by up to 25% as per their occupancy, As per an order by Railway Board.
It has been stated in an attempt to optimize the utilization of accommodation. The railway ministry has decided to delegate the powers to commercial managers of the railway zones and introduce discounted fare schemes in trains that accommodate AC settings.
The element of discount is said to be a maximum of up to 25% on the basic fare and all other charges will be applicable separately. The discount will be provided based on occupancy in any or all the classes. Moreover, the same order also stated that classes with less than 50% occupancy during the last 30 days would be considered.
The discount will be provided to the first and the last leg of the journey and/or end-to-end journeys and/or intermediate sections and/or end-to-end journeys providing occupancy less than 50 percent in the leg/section/end-to-end.
The statement further mentioned that a discount will be implemented with immediate effect with no refund of fare to be admissible for already booked passengers.
