Reliance is going to acquire 51% of the shares to support The 35-year-old couture house's expansion plans in India and around the world.
Reliance Brands Ltd. (RBL) announced a definitive agreement to invest in Couturiers Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla (AJSK) for a 51 percent majority stake, either directly or through its affiliates.
In response to the acquisition, Isha Ambani, Director of Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd, stated, "Working with India's leading couturiers, who have an unrivaled reputation in Indian fashion for their fine craftsmanship and impeccable attention to detail, techniques, and embroideries, is exciting because it allows us to create a stronger platform for their zealous dedication to a reinvention of Indian craft. Their gift is to draw inspiration from the past in order to create with a fresh perspective."
