A town in Rajasthan, located three hours from Jaipur, has been facing increasing communal tension after a family reported money missing from their wallet. This led to accusations against several Muslim youths, which sparked arrests and protests.

The Start of the Issue

The incident began when a father discovered Rs 2,000 missing from his wallet. After questioning his daughter, the family found out that she had been communicating with a Muslim youth. Later, other girls in the same area were also found to be in similar situations, with accusations of blackmail and exploitation. The families filed police complaints accusing the youths of trying to exploit the girls and convert them to another religion.

The Arrests and Growing Tension

In the days that followed, 11 people, including minors, were arrested in connection with the allegations. Three of those arrested are minors. The small town, which has a population of about one lakh, has grown in recent years as an economic hub. There are now more businesses, cafes, and restaurants in the area, with Hindu owners and Muslim workers.

Controversy Over Mosque Demolition Notices

As the situation escalated, the local Jama Masjid (mosque) and some other buildings faced notices for alleged land encroachment. The local municipality claimed that the notices were about checking land documents, not demolitions. However, some structures had already been demolished. The mosque's leaders and some local Muslims are upset about the action, calling it unfair and politically motivated.

Threats and Fear Among Families

Family members of those arrested say they have been threatened. One of the families claimed that after the arrest of their relative, a group of people barged into their home and threatened them with violence. Many Muslim families in the area are now living in fear, and some parents are keeping their children at home for safety.

Protests and Rallies in the Town

Rallies have been held in support of the alleged victims, with Hindu right-wing groups showing strong support. However, these protests have added to the growing tension in the town. Some local leaders are concerned about further violence and are calling for peace.

Political Leaders React

Rajasthan’s political figures have weighed in on the issue. Governor Haribhau Bagde made a statement that seemed to target the Muslim youths involved in the case. On the other hand, opposition leaders have criticized the state government’s handling of the situation, especially the lack of security in the region.

Ongoing Concerns in the Community

The town remains divided, with many families worried about their safety. Some are concerned about how the situation will unfold and how the future of the town will look if tensions continue to rise. Everyone is hoping for a fair resolution, but uncertainty still looms over the community.
