The reminiscent moment harked back to October 2019, a few days before the Maharashtra assembly polls, when Pawar, campaigning in Satara, braved heavy rain without an umbrella, deeming it a blessing for the NCP. That iconic rain-soaked address became a symbol of the party's resilience and garnered widespread attention on social media, believed to have influenced the NCP's improved performance in the elections.
In the aftermath, the NCP secured 54 seats in the assembly, marking an increase from its previous tally, credited in part to Pawar's impactful speech. However, the present poses a different challenge for the seasoned leader, navigating internal rifts following defections to the BJP and Shiv Sena, led by his nephew Ajit Pawar and other senior leaders.
