The number of devotees attending the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj has increased today, Friday. By 10 am, over 40 lakh people had taken a holy dip in the Sangam. As more and more people gather, traffic has become a problem in many parts of the city.

Traffic Jams on Major Roads

In the Sulemsarai area, there is a traffic jam stretching up to 1 kilometer, and there is also a long 1.5 km jam on Naini Bridge. The police have set up many barriers around the Sangam area to control the crowd. They are asking devotees to wait until the area clears before they can proceed. The traffic jams are causing delays, and the police are working hard to manage the situation.

Chief Minister’s Instructions for Smooth Traffic

With the weekend coming, especially Saturday and Sunday, the number of devotees is expected to increase even more. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting to discuss the situation. He gave clear instructions that there should be no traffic jams on the roads leading to the Kumbh Mela. He also said that senior officers need to be on the streets to ensure the situation is under control. If there are any traffic jams, the responsible officers will be held accountable.

The authorities are taking steps to improve traffic management and make sure devotees can reach the Sangam without facing any problems.
