Software engineer Atul Subhash’s tragic suicide in Bengaluru highlights alleged harassment by his wife, false accusations, and emotional distress. His 24-page suicide note has sparked social media outrage under #JusticeForAtulSubhash.

Atul Subhash, a 34-year-old software engineer from Uttar Pradesh, was found hanging in his Bengaluru apartment, leaving behind a 24-page suicide note that details years of alleged harassment by his wife and her family. A placard reading "Justice is due" was discovered at the scene, intensifying the public demand for accountability under the hashtag #JusticeForAtulSubhash.

The suicide note, partly written and partly typed, accuses his wife, Nikita Singhania, an employee at Accenture, of filing false cases against him. Subhash described the immense emotional distress caused by nine police complaints, which included severe allegations such as murder, dowry harassment, and unnatural sex. He also expressed pain over how their four-year-old son was used as a tool to demand maintenance, further increasing his suffering.

One prominent case mentioned in the note involved murder charges filed against Subhash for the death of his father-in-law in 2019. Nikita had alleged that her father died of shock after Subhash’s family demanded a dowry of ₹10 lakh. However, during cross-examination, Nikita admitted that the murder charges were false and that her father had died due to a heart-related ailment.

This heartbreaking incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many demanding justice for Subhash and calling attention to the mental toll false accusations can take. The note’s intricate details highlight the need for a thorough investigation into the allegations and the events leading to his death.

Atul Subhash’s tragic story serves as a somber reminder of the importance of addressing mental health issues and ensuring fairness in legal disputes, especially in sensitive family matters.
