Doug McMillon, CEO and president of Walmart, is all set to stay committed to India for the long term. CEO now wants to meet the company’s goal to source $10 billion of India-made goods every year by 2027.

Along with some topmost leaders of India’s biggest retail group, McMillon visited Bengaluru on Tuesday to have insights on the progress made by Walmart entities like PhonePe, Flipkart; etc.

 At a company event, Doug met suppliers, merchants, and artisans who deal in India’s programs and Initiatives like Walmart Vriddhi, Walmart Marketplace, Walmart Global Tech, and Foundation, etc.

Leaders of this retail giant said that they are excited about their Indian partners who make quality, affordable as well as sustainable goods for customers across the globe. They also mentioned that they are very proud to be supporting India’s growth by creating jobs, accelerating progress, strengthening the community, etc. McKenna also said that the Indian market has been a long priority for Walmart and they want to play a small part in India’s growth story.

They also highlighted that they are very excited to have the opportunity to serve as partners to a nation which all set to be the world’s largest economy in the next 7 years.

At the same Company event, Kalyan Krishnamurthy and Sameer Nigam who are the CEO of Flipkart and PhonePe came to showcase their progress.

PhonePe demonstrated the company’s stepping into e-commerce backed by ONDC. McMillon and Mckenna also experienced presentations by smart speakers of PhonePe, showcasing assisting customers to make payments without any delay.

Visitors also got to have a look at famous suppliers' stalls and test out some of their products.
