- New Routes from Smaller Cities: Air Canada is also offering new direct flights from smaller Canadian cities like Halifax, Quebec City, and Ottawa to sunny escapes in the Caribbean and Mexico.
Mark Galardo, Air Canada's Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer, and President, Cargo, highlighted the strategic importance of this expansion, stating that the new schedule caters to both Canadian travelers seeking winter getaways and international travelers connecting through Canada (the "Sixth Freedom" concept).
South America Calling: Rio & Beyond
South America is getting a major boost! Air Canada is launching three weekly flights from Toronto to Rio de Janeiro, starting December 4, 2025, and running until March 2026. Imagine yourself soaking up the sun on Ipanema beach!
Montrealers will also benefit from a three-weekly service to Santiago, Chile, commencing December 16, 2025, and running to February 2026. And, for those seeking a Colombian escape, Air Canada will offer flights to Cartagena from both Toronto and Montreal.
Caribbean Delights & Central American Charms
The Caribbean is also getting a significant upgrade! Air Canada is introducing new routes from several Canadian cities to various hotspots, including:
- Quebec City to Fort-de-France (Martinique)
- Ottawa to Nassau (Bahamas) and Montego Bay (Jamaica)
- Halifax to Nassau (Bahamas) and Montego Bay (Jamaica)
- Vancouver to Huatulco (Mexico)
Central America isn't being left out! Montreal will have new flights to Guatemala City, while Toronto will see new three-weekly service to Guadalajara.
