Hey everyone,
Costco Beef Stick Recall: Uh Oh!
Okay, so this is a little weird. If you're a Costco regular and love Chomps Original Beef Sticks (like, really love them), you need to listen up. There's a recall happening, and it's not a small one. Apparently, some of those beef sticks might have tiny bits of metal in them. Seriously. I know, right?
The recall covers a bunch of pouches sold in 22 states – between February 4th and March 21st, 2025. That’s quite the timeframe! So, if you stocked up, check your stash.
Which Chomps are Affected?
It's only the Chomps Original Beef Sticks, the ones that come in those 12-count pouches from Costco. Turns out, a couple of people found metal fragments in their sticks. Thankfully, no one got hurt (as far as we know!), but Chomps and Costco are taking this seriously and recalling the potentially affected products.
How Can I Tell if Mine Are Recalled?
Okay, here's the detective work part. Grab your beef sticks (if you haven't already eaten them, of course!) and check the package for these things:
- EST Code: 6220A
- UPC (Pouch): 856584004763
- UPC (Stick): 856584004183
- Lot Codes: 25016, 25017, 25018, 25020, or 25021
If your package matches these details, don't eat them! Seriously, don't risk it.
What Should I Do with the Recalled Sticks?
The easiest thing is to head back to Costco with your recalled sticks and get a full refund. They should be happy to help. Or, if going back to Costco isn't feasible, you can just toss them in the trash. No need to keep them hanging around!
If you have any questions, you can always call Chomps directly at 855-636-1150 (8 a.m. to 8 p.m. CST) or check their website: chomps.com/recall. They're probably pretty busy right now.
Where Were These Sold?
This recall impacts Costco locations in Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wisconsin.
Keeping Safe and Informed
This whole thing is a good reminder to keep an eye out for recall notices. It’s always better to be safe than sorry, right? So, next time you're at the grocery store, maybe give your products a quick once-over for any recall information. You never know!
