On November 14, at around 10:30 pm, Sahara Group Chairman, Subrata Roy Sahara, passed away due to cardiorespiratory arrest after a prolonged battle with complications stemming from metastatic malignancy, hypertension, and diabetes.

 The 75-year-old founder of Sahara India Pariwar had been admitted to Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Medical Research Institute on November 12.

In an official statement, Sahara India Pariwar expressed profound sadness, confirming the demise of Subrata Roy Sahara, lauding him as the "Hon’ble ‘Saharasri’." 

Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav expressed deep sorrow, acknowledging Subrata Roy Sahara's businessman success and philanthropic contributions. Yadav described him as a sensitive individual with a generous heart, offering condolences to Uttar Pradesh and the nation.
