Moninder Singh Pandher and Surinder Koli have been declared innocent by the Allahabad High Court in the horrific Nithari serial killings case, ending a 17-year judicial battle that shocked the entire country.

The lack of strong evidence led to the acquittal. The terrible case started in 2006 when a number of kids from Noida's Sector 31 mysteriously vanished.

Surinder Koli, a domestic servant at the residence of businessman Moninder Singh Pandher, was suspected by their alarmed families. They begged the police to look into it, but they got no response.

The issue only got traction after locals, including Jhabbu Lal and Pappu Lal, discovered horrifying contents in an unattended drain.

After the initial finding, the police responded, and there were significant disagreements on the precise number of bodies discovered. At least 19 lives were cruelly cut short during the inquiry that followed, including Payal, the only adult victim.

The CBI charged Surinder Koli with rape, murder, and evidence tampering, while Pandher faced no such allegations due to a lack of substantial evidence.

In 2009, Koli and Pandher were found guilty of raping and murdering Rimpa Haldar and sentenced to death. Koli faced multiple death sentences, while Pandher did not.

The Allahabad High Court has acquitted Koli and Pandher, overturning the lower court's sentence, citing the prosecution's failure to establish a case beyond a reasonable doubt.

Moninder Singh Pandher and Surinder Koli are in prison in Noida and Ghaziabad, respectively, after a lengthy legal battle ends.

The declaration has left the entire country in shock especially the parents whose children were hunted in the case and were hoping to get justice from India’s Judiciary System.
