Acharya Pramod Krishnam, a former leader of the Congress, has taken a harsh stance against the party for selecting Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to represent Wayanad in the next Lok Sabha elections. Following Rahul Gandhi's decision to hold onto the Rae Bareli seat, Krishnam charged that the Congress was trying to diminish Priyanka Gandhi's reputation by fielding her in Wayanad.

"Priyanka Gandhi is the most popular face in Congress," said Krishnam. She ought to have been elected president of the Congress. There are attempts to devalue Priyanka Gandhi by providing her a ticket to the Lok Sabha in the by-elections."

Within political circles, there has been debate regarding Priyanka Gandhi's nomination from Wayanad, a seat that Rahul Gandhi had previously challenged. Some who oppose the move, such as Krishnam, contend that it is a strategy to maintain dynastic politics within the Congress party instead of advancing meritocracy or leadership that is supported by a larger segment of the populace.

Furthermore, Krishnam charged that the Congress's choice betrayed mistrust of Hindus. "One thing Congress has proven, that it doesn't trust Hindus, is that it forced Priyanka Gandhi to contest from Wayanad," he declared. If Hindus had been trusted, she would have been forced to run for office somewhere else."

The Congress has come under heavy fire from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the nomination, accusing it of misleading the voters in Wayanad and continuing dynasty politics. Renowned BJP politician Shehzad Poonawalla charged that the Gandhi family had discriminated against Priyanka Gandhi by sending her to South India in order to gain political traction.

"It has been demonstrated that Congress is a family-run business rather than a political party," said Poonawalla. Rahul Gandhi will retain his seat in Raebareli, and Sonia Gandhi will hold the position of Rajya Sabha MP. The entire family will be in parliament as a result of their decision to challenge Wayanad resident Priyanka Gandhi, which is a familiarization concept."

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, a BJP politician and former union minister, also criticized the Congress, calling the action a "dynasty imposition" on the Wayanad voters. Chandrasekhar stated, "There is shamelessness and there is Cong type of shamelessness - imposing one member after another of their dynasty on voters of Wayanad - after shamelessly hiding the fact that Rahul was contesting from another constituency."

The controversy surrounding Priyanka Gandhi's Wayanad candidacy highlights larger discussions concerning the role of family dynasties in Indian politics, leadership succession, and political transparency. The choice made by the leadership of Congress continues to come under scrutiny and criticism from a variety of sources as the election season progresses.
