New Delhi: AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has secured victory in the Kalkaji constituency, defeating BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri by 3,500 votes in the 2025 Delhi Assembly Elections.
The election battle was intense, with Bidhuri initially leading as vote counting began. However, in the final rounds, Atishi gained momentum and overtook her opponent, sealing a crucial win for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
A Key Contest in Delhi Elections
The Kalkaji seat was one of the most closely watched contests in this election. Atishi, a senior AAP leader and sitting MLA, was seeking her second consecutive term, while BJP fielded former Lok Sabha MP Ramesh Bidhuri to challenge her.
Atishi’s Rise in Delhi Politics
Atishi became Delhi’s Chief Minister in September 2024, after Arvind Kejriwal resigned, making her the youngest CM at 43. Since joining AAP in 2013, she has played a key role in shaping the party’s policies and governance model.
Her victory in Kalkaji reinforces her political standing and strengthens AAP’s position in Delhi’s governance.
