The Election Commission of India (ECI) has invited political parties to share their suggestions on unresolved issues in the electoral process. The Commission is also planning to meet with top leaders to discuss these concerns directly.
Open Call for Feedback
Political parties have until April 30 to submit their feedback on any pending issues at different levels, including those concerning state Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs). The goal is to strengthen the election process while ensuring compliance with the law.
In a letter dated March 11, the ECI proposed discussions with party presidents and senior leaders at a convenient time to enhance the electoral framework.
Training for Party Representatives
Major parties like the BJP, BJD, and AITC have agreed to nominate their representatives—Booth Level Agents, polling agents, and counting agents—for special training programs conducted by the ECI.
Ensuring a Fair Electoral Process
Last week, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar instructed state and district election officers to hold regular discussions with political parties. He stressed that all suggestions must be addressed within the legal framework.
The ECI has also requested an action taken report by March 31, 2025, ensuring transparency and accountability in the election process.
