Emergency alert on Android Phones by the Government in India, Have you received it too?

On October 10th, Android users across the country were startled by a "Severe Emergency Alert" on Android phones with a persistent loud beep that demanded user interaction by clicking "OK." 

This incident occurred just three weeks after a similar event had made headlines. Although it may have caused surprise and concern among Android users, there is no need for alarm, as it was merely a nationwide government test. 

The message explicitly stated that it was a "SAMPLE MESSAGE," and users were not required to take any immediate action.

This message's primary purpose is to enhance public safety by facilitating timely alerts. The government intends to utilize this service to inform citizens about critical events such as COVID-19 updates, flood warnings, and earthquake notifications.
