Lee Zeldin, the new administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), has announced the cancellation of a controversial $50 million grant. The grant was originally allocated to the Climate Justice Alliance, a group that claims "climate justice runs through a free Palestine."
Zeldin, who took office at the end of January, spoke about this decision during an appearance on "The Story with Martha MacCallum."
"Just earlier today, I canceled a $50 million grant to an organization called the Climate Justice Alliance," Zeldin said. "I believe American taxpayers wouldn’t want their hard-earned money going to this left-wing advocacy group. So, it’s canceled."

He also pointed out that members of Congress had opposed this grant, reinforcing his decision to revoke it.
$160 Million Given to Canadian Bus Company That Went Bankrupt
Zeldin also highlighted another instance of financial mismanagement under the Biden administration. The EPA previously allocated $160 million to a Canadian electric bus manufacturer. Instead of making payments based on production milestones, the full amount was sent upfront.
However, the company later declared bankruptcy and failed to deliver $95 million worth of school buses to 55 school districts across the U.S.
"It’s the American taxpayer that gets screwed," Zeldin stated, emphasizing the need for stricter financial oversight.
Trump’s Team Finds $20 Billion in Wasted Taxpayer Funds
Zeldin's team recently identified $20 billion in taxpayer money that was wasted under the Biden administration. A viral video from two months ago showed a Biden EPA political appointee admitting that billions of dollars were being rushed out the door before President Trump took office.
The video referenced "tossing gold bars off the Titanic"—a metaphor for knowingly wasting taxpayer money. According to Zeldin, these "gold bars" were parked at an outside financial institution, and his team is now working to recover them.

Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Joins the Effort
President Donald Trump has launched the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to identify and eliminate wasteful spending across various agencies. Billionaire Elon Musk has been appointed to lead this new initiative.
As part of this effort, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Scott Turner announced the creation of the DOGE Task Force at HUD. The task force has already identified $260 million in potential savings.
"Under President Trump’s leadership, business as usual is over," Turner wrote on X, promising a crackdown on fraud and mismanagement.
The Road Ahead
Lee Zeldin and the DOGE team continue to investigate how taxpayer dollars were spent under the Biden administration. Their goal is to ensure that American money is used responsibly and efficiently. With more agencies under review, additional revelations about government waste may soon come to light.
