In a significant move to reform land record management, the Telangana government has launched the Bhu Bharati portal, aiming to replace the existing Dharani system. This initiative seeks to address longstanding issues related to land ownership and transactions, ensuring greater transparency and efficiency.

🔄 Transition from Dharani to Bhu Bharati

The Dharani portal, introduced by the previous administration, faced criticism over inaccuracies and lack of transparency. Bhu Bharati is designed to rectify these issues by providing a more reliable and user-friendly platform for landowners and stakeholders.

🛠️ Features of Bhu Bharati

  • Comprehensive Services: The portal offers services including land registration, mutation, appeals, and conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural purposes.

  • Bhudhaar Integration: A unique identification number, Bhudhaar, will be assigned to each land parcel, akin to the Aadhaar system for individuals.

  • Bhu Mitra Support: Dedicated support centers, termed Bhu Mitra, will assist citizens in navigating the portal and resolving queries.

🗺️ Pilot Implementation and Expansion Plans

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that Bhu Bharati will initially be implemented as a pilot project in four mandals across different districts: Maddur (Narayanpet), Nelakondapalli (Khammam), Lingampeta (Kamareddy), and Venkatapur (Mulugu). Based on feedback and necessary adjustments, the portal is slated for statewide rollout by June 2, 2025.

Government's Vision and Public Engagement

Emphasizing the importance of public awareness, the Chief Minister has directed district collectors to conduct educational programs at the mandal level. These initiatives aim to familiarize citizens with the new system and ensure a smooth transition from Dharani to Bhu Bharati.

Conclusion

The introduction of Bhu Bharati marks a pivotal step in Telangana's efforts to modernize land record management. By addressing previous shortcomings and incorporating user-centric features, the government aims to foster trust and streamline land-related processes for its citizens
