The New Parliament building is set to be inaugurated on 28th May 2023 by Narendra Modi and will take place on 28th May.
The First Phase
The commencement of the new building of Parliament will be done after preliminary rituals. Rituals are set to take place in pandals near Gandhi Statue. This will be done in the presence of some senior Ministers, PM Narendra Modi, and Om Birla.
After the pooja ceremonies, the ministers will be taken on a tour of the new building. People in attendance will get to explore Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Chambers.
As per sources, ‘Sengol’ will be installed in Lok Sabha Chambers by the priests of Tamil Nadu. The Jeweller who crafted the prestigious statue will also be there.
This concludes the first phase at 9:30 AM.
The Second Phase
This phase will commence with Indian National Anthem.
After giving tribute through Anthem, proceedings will take place in Rajya Sabha Chambers. On behalf of the Chairman of Rajya Sabha (Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar), the Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha (Hariwansh) will read out the message.
There will also be a message from President Murmu.
After this, the entire process of how the construction took place and what is the significance of this new building to India will be showcased in two short videos.
As Indian National Congress has declared no attending the ceremony the status of speech from Leader of Opposition is yet unknown. However, Slots have been allotted for the same.
Then, PM Narendra Modi will deliver a speech and even release a new coin and stamp.
At last, the Secretary General of Lok Sabha will deliver a vote of thanks which will conclude the ceremony.
