AEK Athens is currently looking to fill their left-back position and is considering a few players for the role, including 31-year-old Babis Lykogiannis. Lykogiannis, who was recently released by Bologna after falling out of favor with coach Vincenzo Italiano, is one of several options for AEK. The Greek left-back, known for his speed and defensive abilities, has played a total of 60 games for Bologna, contributing 4 goals and 3 assists during his time with the club. This season, he has made 11 appearances, including 3 in the prestigious Champions League.

Before his time at Bologna, Lykogiannis had a solid career in Italy with Cagliari, playing 109 games, scoring 5 goals, and assisting 7 times. He has also had stints with teams like Sturm Graz, Levadiakos, Ergotelis, and Olympiacos. His vast experience in top leagues makes him an attractive option for AEK.

Although Lykogiannis is not AEK's first choice for the left-back role, he remains on the club's radar as they continue to assess their options. Despite his release from Bologna, several clubs, including Enyimba, have shown interest in signing him, but he may not be their primary target. AEK is still considering other candidates, including Arthur Mazuaku, who has been linked with the club for some time.

However, AEK's priority in the current winter transfer window is to secure a strong left-back, and they are working hard to fill the gap that has been present in their roster for a while. As the transfer window continues, AEK is evaluating several possibilities, including Lykogiannis, who could join them quickly due to his ability to adapt quickly to new teams.

In addition to Lykogiannis, AEK is also exploring other potential signings, with one of their key targets being Alejandro Bernabeu, a 24-year-old Argentine left-back. Bernabeu was recently transferred to Brazilian club Internacional for around 5 million euros, but his name continues to pop up on AEK's list of candidates.

As AEK continues to strengthen their squad, the left-back position remains a priority. They are expected to make a decision soon, with Lykogiannis still in the running to join the team.

Stay tuned for further updates on AEK's transfer activities and their efforts to finalize their left-back position.
