Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has been part of every IPL season since 2008 but has never won the title. Despite having top players like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Chris Gayle, RCB has struggled to secure the trophy. Former Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shehzad believes that RCB can win the IPL if pacer Mohammad Amir plays for them.

Shehzad made this comment on a GEO TV show, sparking a discussion among fans. However, since Pakistani players are not allowed in the IPL, Amir playing for RCB seems unlikely. Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Rashid Latif also added that RCB shouldn't expect to win the IPL as long as MS Dhoni plays for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who have been dominating the tournament in recent years.

RCB will start their IPL 2025 campaign on March 22, facing defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The team, now under new captain Rajat Patidar, is determined to break their title drought. This season is especially important for Virat Kohli, who has been with RCB since the first IPL season.

AB de Villiers, speaking on JioHotstar, defended Kohli against criticism about his strike rate. De Villiers said the criticism was "ridiculous" and that Kohli played according to the needs of his team. In IPL 2024, Kohli scored 741 runs in 15 matches and won the Orange Cap. His improved performance helped RCB make it to the playoffs, although they lost to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the eliminator.

With the new season approaching, RCB fans are hopeful that this could be the year their team finally wins the IPL. Will 2025 be the year RCB lifts the trophy? Only time will tell.
