Amen Thompson hit a game-winning floater with 0.7 seconds left, leading the Houston Rockets to a 114-112 victory over the Boston Celtics on Monday night. Thompson scored a career-high 33 points, and Dillon Brooks added 36 points, helping the Rockets win their ninth game in the last 11.

Jaylen Brown scored 28 points for the Celtics, and Jayson Tatum had 19 points, including a layup to tie the game with 5.3 seconds left. However, Thompson responded with the game-winning shot to secure the Rockets’ victory.

The Celtics had a strong performance from Luke Kornet (18 points) and Kristaps Porzingis (17 points, 8 rebounds), but couldn’t stop the Rockets in the final moments. Despite scoring just 12 points, Jalen Green had a quieter night but was still part of the team’s success.

Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla took responsibility for the team’s defensive mistakes in the final plays. “Those last two plays were on me,” he said.

Earlier, Rockets coach Ime Udoka mentioned that forward Cam Whitmore was sick and not at the game. For the Celtics, Al Horford, Derrick White, and Sam Hauser were unavailable due to injury.
