A Career Dedicated to Connecting with People
Hahn's career in broadcasting began in 1992 as a sports reporter at Ostdeutscher Rundfunk Brandenburg (ORB). His passion for sports, especially his beloved FC Energie Cottbus, and his warm friendship with boxer Axel Schulz, were well-known. However, it was his hosting of "Der Sonne entgegen" that truly cemented his status as a Brandenburg icon.
Launching in September 1997, "Der Sonne entgegen" (Towards the Sun) quickly became a regional sensation. Its simple yet engaging premise – offering passersby an immediate, all-expenses-paid vacation – was perfectly complemented by Hahn's infectious charm and quick wit. From the eighth episode, his iconic greeting, "Hallo Brandenburg, hallo Welt!" (Hello Brandenburg, hello world!), became synonymous with the show.
More Than Just a Game Show Host
Hahn’s impact extended far beyond the screen. His genuine warmth, evident in his warm hugs and genuine interest in the lives of those he encountered, transformed him into a cherished figure across Brandenburg. He wasn't just a host; he was a familiar and beloved face, a true ambassador for his region.
