Celtics Obliterate Suns: A Tatum-less Triumph
Wow, did the Celtics ever show up Wednesday night! They absolutely crushed the Phoenix Suns, winning 132-102. It was a total blowout, a dominant performance from start to finish, and their seventh win in a row. Even without Jayson Tatum – who sat out with an ankle sprain – they looked unstoppable.
Porzingis and Brown: A Dynamic Duo
Kristaps Porzingis was on fire, tying Kevin Durant for the game high with 30 points. Seriously, the guy was shooting lights out – 10 of 15 from the field, including 4 of 5 from three-point range. It was a truly impressive performance. And Jaylen Brown? He had a killer bounce-back game after a bit of a quiet night against the Kings, dropping 24 points. These two really stepped up, proving they can carry the offensive load even when Tatum's out.
Raining Threes: Boston's Long-Range Assault
Honestly, the Celtics' three-point shooting was insane. They hit 22 of 52 attempts – that’s 42.3%! It was a barrage of threes, a constant threat from beyond the arc. The Suns? Not so much. They struggled from deep, making only 13 of 41 attempts (31.7%). The difference was stark, especially in the second quarter when Phoenix went a dismal 0 for 9 from three. That pretty much sealed the deal right there, you know?
Durant's Brilliance, But Little Support
Kevin Durant put up a solid 30 points for the Suns, but unfortunately, he was pretty much a one-man show. No other Sun even hit double digits until the fourth quarter. They just couldn't keep up with Boston's offensive firepower, or match their three-point accuracy. It was a tough night for Phoenix, one where they simply couldn't find their rhythm.
What We Learned, and What's Next
Porzingis' performance was a serious statement. The guy can win games single-handedly. Brown's bounce-back game showed his reliability – you can always count on him. And the Celtics' three-point dominance? That was the key to victory, hands down. Next up for the Celtics is the San Antonio Spurs, and they're looking to keep that winning streak alive. Their rematch against the Suns is set for April 4th in Boston. I'll be watching!
