Cristiano Ronaldo has added another milestone to his illustrious career by breaking the Saudi Pro League's single-season scoring record. The Portuguese superstar scored his 35th goal of the season for Al Nassr during their match against Al-Ittihad at Al Awwal Park Stadium on May 27, surpassing the previous record of 34 goals set by Abderrazak Hamdallah in the 2018-19 season.

On the last day of the season, Ronaldo broke all previous records with two goals. Even with his outstanding individual performance, Al Nassr was 14 points behind league winners Al Hilal at the end of the season. Al Nassr has finished as runners-up in the Saudi Pro League for the past two seasons.
"This has been a great season for the team, probably our best one yet," manager Jorge Jesus of Al Hilal said. "The credit goes to the immense talent within the squad and the incredible sense of unity that transcends both on and off-field interactions."

Five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo had a distinguished career in Europe's best divisions, such as La Liga and the Premier League. Even though he just set a record in the Saudi Pro League, it might not have the same impact as some of his other accomplishments. With 128 goals in 206 appearances for Portugal, Ronaldo holds the record for most goals scored for his country ever.
During the season, Al Nassr was unable to win any titles in the Asian Champions League or the Saudi Cup. Ronaldo's arrival has significantly improved the team's performance and visibility despite the absence of hardware.
According to rumors, Ronaldo might stick with Al Nassr for the 2025–2026 campaign. Sports writer Ben Jacobs claims that Al Nassr intends to give Ronaldo one more year on his contract. Although his contract is set to expire in 2025, club executives are eager to retain him for an extra year.
Ben Jacobs tweeted, "It is understood that talks to extend Cristiano Ronaldo's contract by a year are scheduled for this summer at Al-Nassr." The terms of Ronaldo's current contract expire in 2025, but Nassr and SPL officials want him to sign a new agreement. Additionally, central dealmakers are eager to retain Ronaldo for the 2025–2026 campaign."
Ronaldo will play into his 40s if the agreement goes through, continuing the legacy of other great athletes like NFL quarterback Tom Brady, who competed until the age of 44.
