The Indian men's cricket squad is now concentrating on a tough Test schedule following a difficult ODI series against Sri Lanka. Gautam Gambhir's role as the red-ball cricket format's head coach officially began today. Gambhir is excited to use this strategy with the Indian national side as they get ready for the upcoming Test season. Gambhir has always highlighted the value of domestic red-ball cricket.

Gambhir reportedly wants important players to compete in the Duleep Trophy, including Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli. An important component of India's domestic cricket system, Gambhir thinks this competition will be a great warm-up for the next Test series. According to The Indian Express, Axar Patel, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav, and Kuldeep Yadav are among the other well-known athletes who have been invited to participate in the Duleep Trophy.

Jasprit Bumrah, the powerful pacer, is the only player who is not required to participate because he has been given a long break. This choice is a component of a workload management plan, given the demanding schedule the Indian squad will be facing in the upcoming months.

It is planned that seasoned players like Rohit and Kohli will be selected for the Duleep Trophy squads, which will be announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Expert players like Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara might not be cut, but Ishan Kishan is also expected to be included.

The next Test match between Bangladesh and India is scheduled to start on September 19. Beginning on September 5, the Duleep Trophy will give the players a crucial stage to recover their form and self-assurance ahead of the Test matches. India has 10 Test matches scheduled over the next four months, including five important contests against Australia. The selectors are still uncertain over whether to include Bumrah in the Test squad for the first two matches against Bangladesh.

Mohammed Shami is expected to rejoin the team after being out since the conclusion of the ODI World Cup last year, even though Bumrah might be rested. Under Gambhir's direction, the Indian team is concentrated on getting the greatest domestic cricket preparation possible as the Test season draws near, hoping to succeed in the difficult games that lie ahead.
