Mass's Formula One career, spanning from 1973 to 1982, saw him compete for teams like Surtees and McLaren. His sole Grand Prix victory came at the 1975 Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, a race tragically cut short due to a fatal accident involving his teammate, Rolf Stommelen. Although he only received half points due to the cancellation, this win remains a pivotal moment in his career. Beyond the win, Mass achieved eight podium finishes and a reputation for his skillful and determined driving style. Sadly, he was also involved in the accident that contributed to the death of Gilles Villeneuve during qualifying for the 1982 Belgian Grand Prix.
