Victory’s Equalizer
Melbourne Victory played better in the second half. Coach Jeff Hopkins made some changes, bringing on Holly Furphy and Nickoletta Flannery. The change worked, and in the 61st minute, Flannery scored a great goal to make it 1-1. Furphy passed the ball to Gielnik, and Wellington defender Tiana Jaber accidentally passed it to Flannery, who then scored with a strong shot into the net.
Wellington’s Missed Chances
Wellington had 17 shots in the game but couldn't take advantage of their opportunities. In the 72nd minute, Alivia Kelly’s shot was saved by Newbon. Wellington had another chance in stoppage time, but Newbon saved McCutcheon’s shot, and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
