Neymar's time at Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal has ended after both parties agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent. The Brazilian football star, who joined Al-Hilal in August 2023 for a massive $151 million, played only seven matches and scored just one goal. His time at the club was largely affected by a serious ACL injury, which sidelined him for much of the season.

Neymar’s contract was originally set to expire after the 2024 FIFA Club World Cup, but now, both Neymar and Al-Hilal have decided to part ways. The club thanked Neymar for his efforts, despite his limited time on the field.

Brazilian media reports suggest Neymar, along with his father, is considering a return to Santos, his first professional club, where he rose to fame. Santos executives have expressed interest in bringing Neymar back but denied rumors that Neymar and his father were attempting to buy the club’s football division.

Neymar has stated that he’s focused on regaining full fitness to prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which could be his last chance to win the prestigious tournament.
