Pakistan’s cricket team lost the final of the tri-series to New Zealand by 18 runs. After an exciting win against South Africa, Pakistan couldn’t perform well in the final match. New Zealand reached the target of 243 runs in 45.2 overs, winning their first tournament in Pakistan.

Rizwan’s Decision to Bat First

Captain Mohammad Rizwan decided to bat first, thinking the pitch would be difficult to bat on under lights. Unfortunately, Pakistan lost three early wickets. Rizwan and Salman built a partnership, but Pakistan could only manage 242 runs. Rizwan said, “We were looking at 260, but I got out at the wrong time.”

Mistakes in Fielding and Bowling

Pakistan’s fielding and bowling were poor in the final. They bowled 16 wides and dropped important catches. Tom Latham was dropped twice, and Pakistan didn’t take a review that could have led to his dismissal. Latham eventually scored a half-century, and New Zealand’s chase was smooth.

Looking Ahead to Champions Trophy

Pakistan will face New Zealand again in the Champions Trophy on February 19 and India on February 23. They will need to improve their fielding and bowling to perform better in these crucial matches.
