Pat Cummins, the captain of Australia's cricket team, is planning to return to the Indian Premier League (IPL) after recovering from an ankle injury. He is confident that he will be fit in time to lead Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) final, which is scheduled for June 11 at Lord’s.

Cummins has been dealing with an ongoing ankle problem, which caused him pain during the last match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India. This injury kept him out of the Sri Lanka tour and the Champions Trophy in Pakistan. Despite his injury, Cummins spent valuable time with his family after the birth of his second daughter, Edi, which meant he missed Usman Khawaja’s historic double-century in Sri Lanka.

“It’s been a great few weeks, just focusing on family and being present,” Cummins shared. Though he couldn’t attend the Sri Lanka series, he followed the team’s progress and was happy with their performance.

The 31-year-old fast bowler has started training again and feels hopeful about making his IPL comeback with Sunrisers Hyderabad. He explained that his ankle injury is not serious but needs proper care to fully heal. He has been focusing on rehab and is gradually getting back into shape by running and bowling again.

The IPL will help Cummins get ready for the WTC final. This year, the gap between the IPL and the final is long enough for players like him to recover fully. He believes the intensity of the IPL will help him get in top shape for the final and the upcoming Tests against South Africa.

“Playing four overs in the IPL will be a good way to build up for the WTC final and the next Test series,” Cummins said. He also mentioned that his experience in T20s will help him stay sharp before the big matches.

Pat Cummins’ main focus is to stay fit and return to peak form in time for the WTC final and the upcoming tours. He is determined to make a strong comeback and lead Australia to victory.
