Meet the World’s Longest Car: A Limousine Like You've Never Seen
A Record-Breaking Vehicle
Nicknamed “The American Dream,” this massive custom limousine has earned the title of the world’s longest car. Measuring over 100 feet (30.5 meters) in length, it officially holds a spot in the Guinness World Records. Originally built in the 1980s by famed car customizer Jay Ohrberg, the limo reclaimed its title as the world's longest car on March 2022.
Designed for Luxury and Spectacle
This isn't your average stretch limo. The American Dream includes:
-
A swimming pool with a diving board
-
A jacuzzi and bathtub
-
A mini-golf course
-
A helipad capable of supporting up to 5,000 pounds
-
A waterbed, multiple televisions, a refrigerator, and a telephone
With its massive size, it can seat more than 70 passengers at a time. It rolls on 26 wheels and features multiple driver cabins at both ends to help maneuver such a long vehicle. It’s more like a private mobile resort than a vehicle.
Brought Back to Life
After years of being left unused and partially damaged, the car was brought back to its former glory by automobile restoration specialist Michael Manning and Michael Dezer, a car collector in Florida. The restored limo now sits on display at the Dezerland Park Car Museum in Orlando.
The restoration took over two years and cost thousands of dollars, but the result is a fully functional luxury car that is once again breaking records and turning heads.
More Than Just a Showpiece
While it’s mostly used for display today, The American Dream is a drivable and street-legal vehicle. It was restored with working parts and can actually be operated, although it's far too long for typical roads. It was never meant to be practical—it’s a celebration of design, imagination, and extreme automotive engineering.
