My Week with the Logitech Keys-To-Go: Portable Keyboard Perfection?
Okay, so I’m a total work-from-anywhere kind of person. Which means lugging around a laptop, plus a full-sized keyboard, is a huge pain. I’ve tried other portable keyboards, but they always feel like a compromise. Enter the Logitech Keys-To-Go. I spent a week with it, putting it through its paces, and I'm ready to share my honest thoughts.
First Impressions: Size and Style
The first thing that struck me was how incredibly small and light this thing is. Seriously, it’s ridiculously thin and weighs next to nothing—just 220 grams! It practically disappears into my bag. The foldable cover is a genius move; it protects the keyboard and doubles as a stand. And while it’s smaller than a standard keyboard, the keys aren’t crammed together. I was genuinely surprised by how much space there is between them. Logitech cleverly managed the reduction in size mostly by tweaking the less-used keys (brackets, Enter, Backspace), making the most-used keys comfortable to type on. Honestly, I didn’t even notice the smaller size after a few hours. They cleverly minimized the impact by prioritizing frequently used keys which has made using it pretty seamless.
Connecting and Customizing
Pairing it with my iPad, Android tablet, and phone via Bluetooth was a breeze. Switching between devices is super easy too. The Logi Options+ software (for Windows and Mac) lets you tweak settings, which is a nice touch. It supports pretty much everything: Android 12.0+, ChromeOS, Windows 10+, iPadOS 17+, iOS 17+, and macOS 14+. The only thing I missed was a dedicated home button for mobile devices, but the multitasking button and Alt-Tab work just fine as a replacement.
How'd it Type?
I used the Keys-To-Go for everything – writing articles, emails, even drafting this review! And despite the slightly smaller keys and different key travel compared to my regular MX Keys Mini, typing was surprisingly comfortable. The key pitch is fantastic—almost identical to my desktop keyboard. The battery life is insane; they claim 36 months on a single coin battery. I haven't even begun to make a dent, and I use this thing daily.
The Verdict: Worth the Price?
The Logitech Keys-To-Go is a game-changer for anyone who works on the go. Yes, $129 is a bit pricey, but for the convenience and comfort it offers, it’s worth it. If you’re constantly switching between devices, the ease of use alone justifies the cost. Plus, that protective cover is a total bonus. I'm a convert. I highly recommend it.
