Motorola is about to launch its new phone, the Edge 60 Pro, in India. It just got the BIS certification, which usually means the phone is pretty much ready to be sold here. If you’ve followed Motorola before, you’ll know they released the Edge 50 Pro earlier this year in April, and now this is the next step up from that.

The BIS approval is kind of like a green light from Indian authorities, so the phone should be hitting stores soon. It’s always exciting when a new phone gets certified because it means the wait is almost over.

What Does the BIS Certification Tell Us?

The phone showed up on the BIS website with the model number XT2503-2, which fits the pattern Motorola uses for the Edge 60 Pro. For some background, the Edge 50 Pro had XT2403-4, and before that, the Edge 40 Pro was XT2303-2. Also, there are a couple of other related models popping up in European certification sites, which hints that Motorola might be planning different versions of this phone.

Basically, these certifications don’t reveal everything, but they do confirm that the Edge 60 Pro is real and coming soon, at least in India.

What Can We Expect From the Edge 60 Pro?

Since this phone is supposed to be an upgrade, it looks like Motorola is focusing on making it better in a few key areas:

  • Display and Design: It should have a 6.7-inch pOLED screen with a sharp 1.5K resolution. The refresh rate might be super smooth too, around 165Hz, which means everything will feel fast and fluid. Plus, the colors should be brighter and more vibrant.

  • Performance: The phone might come with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, or maybe even the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or a Dimensity chipset. That means it should handle gaming and multitasking pretty easily.

  • Camera: It’s expected to have a 50MP main camera with OIS, so pictures shouldn’t be blurry, especially in shaky situations. There’s also supposed to be a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The camera setup is likely to be better in low light and use AI to improve photos.

  • Battery and Charging: It will probably have a 4500mAh battery with fast charging support up to 125W wired, plus wireless charging. That’s great for people who hate waiting for their phone to charge.

What’s Next?

The BIS certification is a pretty solid hint that Motorola will launch the Edge 60 Pro in India soon, maybe within the next few weeks. We still don’t know the exact price or official launch date, but the specs sound promising if you’re looking for a phone with good performance, camera, and charging speed. I’ll keep an eye out for more news and updates, so stay tuned!
