The Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Pro have received a new update, Nothing OS 3.1, bringing major camera improvements and Essential Key support. This update enhances both photo-taking and overall device performance.
New Essential Key Functionality
With this update, users can now use the Essential Key to save photos inside Essential Space and add text notes. Previously, the Essential Key was only used for voice memos and screenshots. This feature is helpful for those who want to save both visuals and notes for quick reference. However, photos captured using this method won’t be saved in the gallery.
Camera & Performance Improvements
The update also introduces several camera enhancements, including:

✅ Fix for reddish skin tones in selfies
✅ Improved white balance for indoor shots
✅ Better clarity in portrait shots with backlight
✅ Faster camera performance and responsiveness
For Nothing Phone 3a Pro users, focusing accuracy at 2x zoom has also been improved.

When is the Update Available?
The Nothing OS 3.1 update started rolling out on March 24. To update your device, go to Settings > System > System Updates and install the latest version.
