Samsung has just revealed its latest Galaxy S25 smartphones, powered by Qualcomm chips and Google's artificial intelligence (AI) technology. These new devices come with upgraded AI features, aimed at boosting Samsung’s sales and competing with Apple and Chinese smartphone makers.

The Galaxy S25 models, which range in price from $799 to $1,299, use Gemini AI from Google and Samsung's own voice assistant, Bixby. The combination of these two tools promises a more personalized AI experience for users. For example, the "Now Brief" feature offers customized suggestions like calendars, news, and even air quality information, all while maintaining privacy by processing data directly on the phone.

Samsung also teased a slimmer version of its flagship phones, the Galaxy S25 Edge, which is expected to launch in the first half of this year, ahead of Apple’s thinner iPhone.

In a significant shift, Samsung has decided to use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform instead of its own Exynos chip for the Galaxy S25 series. This move marks a change in Samsung's strategy, as they had previously used both Qualcomm and Exynos chips in their phones.

Despite these updates, Samsung’s shares fell by 1.1% after the announcement, while the broader market only lost 0.4%. Samsung is also facing challenges with its foldable phones and increased competition in the smartphone market.

Samsung’s decision to focus on AI-powered features and a new design is seen as an attempt to regain its position in the smartphone industry, where competition is fierce.
