Vivo is getting ready to launch its new V50 smartphone in India, teasing its features and design on a special microsite. The V50 will have different specifications compared to the V50 in China, as Vivo's S-series phones are often rebranded as V-series for global markets.
Design:
The V50 is set to be one of the slimmest phones in India, even with a large 6000mAh battery. It will be available in three colors: Rose Red, Titanium Grey, and Starry Blue. The Starry Blue color will feature India's first 3D-star technology, creating a beautiful starry effect on the back. The phone will also be IP68 & IP69 certified for dust and water resistance, with Schott Diamond Shield Glass for extra durability and protection. The V50 is likely to have a quad-curved display, enhancing its sleek look.
Camera:
Vivo has always focused on camera performance, and the V50 is no exception. The phone will have dual rear cameras, both branded with ZEISS, featuring a 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. The front camera will also be a 50MP ZEISS lens. These cameras will offer multiple portrait modes, including 23mm, 35mm, and 50mm, along with Vivo's signature 'Aura Light' flash. The phone will also feature color tuning designed specifically for wedding portraits, catering to the Indian market.
Performance & AI Smarts
Though unconfirmed, the V50 is rumored to run on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, ensuring smooth multitasking and gaming. Vivo promises the device will stay "fast and smooth for 5 years," likely through 4 Android updates and 5 years of security patches. AI features like Gemini, Circle to Search, live call translation, and AI transcript (for converting voice notes to text) add everyday convenience.
Price, Release Date & Colors
The Vivo V50 is expected to launch around February 18 at a price under ₹40,000, making it slightly pricier than last year’s V40 (₹34,999). It will be available in Rose Red, Titanium Grey, and Starry Blue, with the latter showcasing the unique 3D-star design.
