Thousands of X (formerly Twitter) users faced a major outage on Monday, leaving them unable to access the platform. According to Downdetector, a website that tracks online service disruptions, nearly 2,000 reports came from India, 18,000 from the US, and 10,000 from the UK. As of now, the company has not responded to the issue.
Users Face Login Failures & Glitches
Many users trying to open the app or website encountered an error message:
"Something went wrong, try reloading."
Downdetector data revealed that in the US:
- 57% of users faced issues with the X app
- 34% reported website problems
- 9% complained about server failures
In the UK, the situation was similar:
- 61% had issues with the app
- 34% reported website errors
- 5% faced server troubles
Social Media Flooded with Complaints
With X being down, users took to other platforms like Meta-owned Threads to express their frustration.
One user wrote:
"Is X/Twitter down for y’all? I hate being here 😭😭"
Another joked:
"I think X is down, I had nowhere to post about it so I came here 🤷🏽"
A third person added:
"Twitter is DOWN! 😱 Glitches, login failures—what's happening? 👀🔥"
X's History & Elon Musk’s Takeover
Tech billionaire Elon Musk, who also serves as a key advisor to former President Donald Trump, bought Twitter for $44 billion in 2022. He later rebranded it as X and introduced several premium features.
For now, users are eagerly waiting for an official response from the company regarding the cause of the outage and when services will be restored. 🚀
