On Friday morning, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police laid floral tributes to five soldiers killed in an encounter in Rajouri district.

Army General Hospital Rajouri, where the General Officer Commanding Romeo Force and other officers and police officials laid wreaths and paid tribute to the martyred army men.

Captain MV Pranjal (63 RR) of Mangalore in Karnataka, Captain Shubham Gupta (9 Para) of Agra in Uttar Pradesh, Havaldar Abdul Majid (Para) of Ajote in Poonch, J-K; Lance Naik Sanjay Bist of Halli Padli in Nainital, UK, and Paratrooper Sachin Laur of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh were among those who died fighting terrorists.

Two terrorists, including a top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander trained in Afghanistan, and five soldiers, including two captains, were killed in a 36-hour gunfight with security forces in Darmsal's Bajimaal district on Wednesday and Thursday.

The army organized a wreath-laying ceremony at Army General Hospital Rajouri, where the General Officer Commanding Romeo Force and other officers and police officials laid wreaths and paid tribute to the martyred army men.

The mortal remains of the martyred army personnel are being returned to their home countries for final rites.

Terrorists clashed with a joint team of the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Dharamsala's Bajimaal neighborhood.
