About 40 villages and 12 colonies got affected by the flood further as per official estimation crops of around 400 bighas of land got submerged in the flood water.

The administration got on high alert and even deployed two National Disaster Response Forces as the water level of River Yamuna in the Mathura district crossed the danger mark of 166m on Sunday afternoon.

NDRF teams have started rescue operations for the stranded people. The ones who resided in low-lying areas are being shifted to other safe places. Relief camps established have also made arrangements for food and treatment. The ghats in Mathura and Vrindavan have been shut considering the ongoing state of the River. 

Even in the Agra district, the watermark of 495ft crossed, which was recorded at 495.80 ft on a Sunday afternoon near the Taj Mahal. A joint team of police and administration rescued about 50 families from the regions of Fatehabad. As waterlogged near the roads of River Yamuna, some traders had to vacate their shops, especially in the Motiganj market. 

Police Commissioner has suggested staying away from the river. The speed boats and divers have been deployed so that assistance can be provided in case of emergency situations.

Although, As per the Executive Engineer of the Irrigation department Sharad Saurav Giri said that in the past 48 hours discharge in Yamuna has dipped but it’s still high and will increase the water level in the already overflowing river.
