In a groundbreaking feat of engineering and infrastructure development, India has unveiled its longest sea bridge, Atal Setu, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. The government, in a statement, highlighted the remarkable features of this first-of-its-kind structure.
One of the standout achievements of Atal Setu is the staggering amount of reinforcement steel used in its construction, totaling a monumental 1,11,700 metric tons.
To put this into perspective, the government drew a striking comparison, revealing that this quantity is equivalent to the weight of 14 Eiffel Towers, iconic landmarks renowned for their structural magnificence.
But that's not all. The bridge also boasts an impressive 1,16,000 metric tons of structural steel, further emphasizing the scale and magnitude of this engineering marvel. To give a sense of scale, this amount is paralleled to the weight of four Howrah Bridges, a well-known bridge in India.
