The much-awaited ‘Blood Moon’ total lunar eclipse is set to occur on March 13-14, 2025, promising a spectacular celestial show for skywatchers across the United States and the Americas. This will be the first total lunar eclipse since 2022 and will be visible across most of the country, provided the weather cooperates.

What Happens During the ‘Blood Moon’ Eclipse?

Unlike a solar eclipse, which is visible for only a few minutes in a narrow area, a lunar eclipse lasts for several hours and can be seen by millions. The upcoming total eclipse will last for 65 minutes, during which the Moon will turn a deep reddish hue, giving it the famous name ‘Blood Moon’.

According to Bob Larson, senior meteorologist at AccuWeather, “The entire country will get to see it, weather permitting.”
