As the metro train ran from the Ramp Area of Agra Metro Depot to Taj East Gate Station, the city of Taj was caught by surprise.

The work on Agra Metro Project finally saw a bright success as the train moved to Taj East Gate station on a ballastless track, as per the officials.
As it marked a historic day for the city, the managing director of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation said that for the first time, the train moved successfully on a 3 km-long track, he also mentioned that the train systems and equipment got tested successfully. Further, On behalf of his team, Sushil Kumar said that they are fully committed to begin the metro operations very soon in Agra. Agra Metro Project hopes to be commissioned on time through sustained efforts.

Till now only low-speed train trials were conducted on the ballasted tracks.

This 29.8km long Metro project will seamlessly blend with the Skyline of Agra, which is the Indian Heritage City.
