River Yamuna water level rises which has left a flood-like situation in Delhi, leaving the national capital on high alert.

The water level of River Yamuna once again surged as the anchor cantonment area on 11th July. As 329,000 cusecs of water were released from the Hathni Kund barrage the same day into the River Yamuna has led to concerns of flooding in the same region.

Even the rise in the water level of River Yamuna is also due to the increase in the levels of  Pathrala and Som in Yamunanagar.

As the water level of Yamuna has surpassed the mark of 205.3 meters. Today, at 8 AM the water level measured at 207.25m near the bridge reaching a point to the highest flood level of 207.49m a sign that the river is above the danger level.

The Old Railway Bridge has been closed to traffic since Tuesday morning due to rising water levels. Furthermore, all gates at the Okhla Barrage have been opened to release excess water, ensuring that the Yamuna River's water level does not remain dangerously high for an extended period of time.

Inspections were carried out at the Akshardham tents, which are being utilized for relocation reasons, on the directions of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Over 2,500 tents have been brought up in six districts of Delhi to house residents from the Yamuna's inundated areas, ensuring their safety.
