Harry Styles Fans Stunned as Pop Star Spotted at Vatican Pope Even
Pop star Harry Styles left fans stunned after being spotted among the crowds gathered at the Vatican for the election of Pope Leo XIV. Styles, 31, was seen in Saint Peter’s Square during the historic moment when Pope Leo XIV was officially named the new pope, succeeding the late Pope Francis.
Pope Francis, who passed away last month at 88, was replaced by the 69-year-old Pope Leo XIV after a swift conclave. The new pope’s election has sparked congratulations from global leaders, including US President Donald Trump, UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
But it wasn’t just world leaders catching attention. Styles, dressed in a blue jacket, grey baseball cap, and sunglasses, was seen among the enthusiastic crowds. The cap, emblazoned with the slogan “Techno is My Boyfriend,” was an instant hit and sold out online shortly after the photo surfaced. Styles had been spotted wearing the same jacket earlier in London.
Fans React
The image of Styles in the Vatican quickly went viral. Fans expressed their excitement on social media, with one saying, “Little did the pope know he was waving to Harry Styles.” Another wrote, “One thing about Harry Styles, he’s always going to accidentally serve cinema somewhere in Europe.” Styles, who loves to explore Italy, was also seen in Rome last year enjoying the local sights and sounds.
Some fans even joked about his music career, with one writing, “Anywhere but the studio,” hinting at Styles’ ongoing break from new music. His last album, Harry’s House, was released in 2022, and he wrapped up his global tour in 2023.
Pope Leo XIV’s Historic Election
The election of Pope Leo XIV was one of the shortest conclaves in recent memory, taking just two days. The announcement of his election was met with cheers and chants of “Habemus Papam” (Latin for “we have a pope”), as white smoke rose from the Sistine Chapel on the evening of 8 May.
Trump, celebrating the election of the first American pope, called it a “great honour for our country.” However, the election has stirred some controversy. Right-wing media and MAGA supporters have criticized Pope Leo XIV due to his past comments on immigration and George Floyd.
In his first words as pope, Pope Leo XIV addressed the crowd, saying, “Peace be with you,” and promised to lead the Catholic Church with compassion and integrity.
The new pontiff becomes the 267th pope and is now the spiritual leader of over 1.4 billion Catholics worldwide.
