Pope Francis Dies at 88 on Easter Monday
Pope Francis, the head of the Roman Catholic Church, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025, at the age of 88. The Vatican officially announced that the Pope died at 7:35 a.m. in his residence at Casa Santa Marta in Vatican City.

The Government of India announced a three-day State Mourning to honor the Pope's passing. During this period, the national flag will be flown at half-mast across all government buildings. No official entertainment or celebratory events will be held.
