Alex Jones, the founder of Infowars, has claimed that his journalist Jamie White was fatally shot near his residence in Austin, Texas, on Sunday night. While the police have confirmed the discovery of an injured man who later succumbed to his wounds at a hospital, they have yet to officially confirm the victim’s identity.
Police Yet to Confirm Identity of Victim
The Austin Police Department responded to an emergency call at approximately 11:57 p.m. on Sunday. Officers found a male victim with severe injuries, who was later pronounced dead at a nearby medical facility. Law enforcement has not yet publicly identified the victim, nor have they provided further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Alex Jones Blames Local Authorities
In a Monday afternoon broadcast, Jones referred to White as his “best reporter” and stated that he had been “brutally murdered.” He accused Democratic officials, including Austin District Attorney José Garza, of being indirectly responsible for the crime by not enforcing stricter law and order policies.
Jones alleged that political figures backed by billionaire philanthropist George Soros have contributed to an environment of lawlessness. However, no evidence has been provided to support these claims.
Infowars' Statement on White’s Death
During his broadcast, Jones shared how Infowars employees had gone to check on White after he failed to answer his phone on Monday morning. Upon arrival at his residence, they reportedly found police tape and bloodstains in the parking lot.
Jones also stated that the Infowars team had been sent home to grieve the loss. Despite his strong criticism of local authorities, he praised the police for their swift response to the incident.
Ongoing Investigation
As of now, authorities have not released any suspect details or potential motives behind the shooting. No other independent sources have confirmed White’s identity apart from Infowars, a platform that has previously been criticized for misinformation.
Local officials have yet to issue an official statement regarding the case, and the investigation remains ongoing.
