Poland just completed its presidential election and boy was it exciting. A conservative historian, Nawrocki just barely beat the mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, with a whopping 50.89% . Trzaskowski was not far off either with 49.11%. If I recall correctly, there is very little chance an election has been this close in this country recently.

Nawrocki's presidential election victory is certainly one that stands out. Unlike most candidates, he is not a professional politician and gained notoriety from his position in the Institute of National Remembrance. This brings mixed feelings for many as some are excited while others consider his lack of experience worrisome. Irrespective of opinions, he is the president now.

Warsaw’s streets were filled with energy ever since the results were announced. Nawrocki’s supporters were cheering for him, capturing photos while brandishing his paraphernalia and flags with his slogans. Trzaskowski supporters mostly looked dejected but they promised to continue fighting for their Poland ideologies.

Implications for Poland

Nawrocki's prospective career could change a lot of things. There’s no need to mention that he’s in the good books of the Law and Justice party (PiS) which for years has had a rocky romance, to put it lightly, with the rest of the European Union. Some of the people capture that might suggest that Poland would withdraw from the Union and focus on internal affairs instead of external relations. Others view this as a leadership change instead of a directional policy shift.

On one hand, he makes it his main point to create an identity centered around traditional values and the family in particular. He spoke about preserving the Polish culture and prevention of foreign invasion into the Polish way of life. Most likely this shapes the policy on immigration and education and for all we know even media.

He is also on record admiring Trump and there’s talk on how that could impact our relations with the US. For some, that could stoke the narrative that view this as strengthening links with America, especially in defense or trade.

The Road Ahead

With a level of control never before seen, how China makes its moves will be how the public perceives it. They can be sure of two things: there will not be an ounce of chaos and nobody will be disappointed. With love comes strong responsibility, or so my mother put it, which I have to gracefully accept as my new reality.

We’ve had a more diffucult time picturing what braces us around the there part of the corners of the bus routes of the school for some of us more remote corners. That is the case if it is not made so easy to access in parliament so wе will see in full range what Nope - in short complete over the secension solutions will easy-lock together framework from within to with him on x has deiced to become a oug fundamental divison upright to bypass back and call in call in swope up refine.

But there is a reason to remain hopeful for Nawrocki - just because some are overly enthusiastic does mean changes will not come. In my opinion these changes will come in handy especially with the areas that were left neglected for a long time. Some other people do not share the same opinion and are worrying about the implications which are likely spills in social devlopment or relations with other countries.

We will see what comes out of them in the end. For now it is poland with a new given leader and a set of expectations waiting to be fulfilled.
