A huge fire broke out at the SPS Technologies warehouse in Abington Township, Pennsylvania, on Monday, February 17, around 9:35 p.m. The warehouse, located at 301 Highland Avenue, caught fire after an explosion inside the building, according to witnesses.
No Injuries Reported
Emergency responders quickly reached the scene and evacuated the warehouse. Officials confirmed that all employees were accounted for, and no injuries have been reported.
Authorities Urge Residents to Stay Away
The Abington Township Police Department and Ward 6 Commissioner Jeffrey Browne used Facebook to warn residents to avoid the area. The fire is causing heavy smoke, and authorities have issued a shelter-in-place advisory for people within a one-mile radius of the site.
Schools Closed Due to Fire
Due to the fire and smoke spreading in the area, all schools under the Abington School District, Jenkintown School District, and private and parochial schools in the area will remain closed on Tuesday, February 18.
SEPTA Train Services Affected
The SEPTA regional rail system has suspended services on the Lansdale/Doylestown and Warminster lines because the fire is burning close to Glenside Station.

Firefighters continue to work hard to control the massive fire at the SPS Technologies warehouse. Hazmat crews are also monitoring the air quality to ensure safety in the affected area.
