Popular rapper Young Scooter, whose real name was Kenneth Edward Bailey, tragically passed away on his 39th birthday, March 28, in Atlanta.
According to reports, Atlanta Police responded to a call about a dispute involving a weapon at a home. When officers arrived, a man shut the door on them, prompting authorities to set up a perimeter around the house. Two men then tried to flee—one returned while the other, identified as Young Scooter, jumped over two fences.
Police say that when they found him on the other side, he had suffered a leg injury. He was taken to Grady Marcus Trauma Center, where he later passed away. Authorities confirmed that his injury was not caused by police.
Following the news of his passing, fellow artists such as Playboi Carti and Quavo expressed their grief on social media.
Born in South Carolina, Young Scooter moved to Atlanta at the age of nine and became a well-known figure in the rap industry. He gained fame with his 2012 hit "Colombia" and later collaborated with stars like Future, Young Thug, and Migos.
